  17. <p>     ROSEANNE ARNOLD is calling for a return to civility. Yes,
  18. yes, Roseanne Arnold. TV's comedy goddess says she's tired of
  19. critics who attack her person rather than review her work, who
  20. describe her, say, as a shrew or a fatso. "It's misogyny, and
  21. I'm sick of it," argues Arnold. "These days everyone aspires to
  22. be Howard Stern." So why not, in the name of civility, give
  23. these folks a particularly unsavory taste of their own medicine?
  24. After her husband Tom Arnold's new sitcom received some bad
  25. press, Roseanne faxed nasty letters to three TV critics. One
  26. included homosexual slurs. Explanation? "I wanted him to know
  27. what this stuff feels like."
